We are thrilled to update you on your children’s exciting first few days here at Camp Ak-O-Mak! It’s been a whirlwind of activities, learning, and making memories.
Upon arrival, your kids quickly settled in and reunited with old friends while making new ones. They have enthusiastically embraced all that camp life has to offer. From the very beginning, they’ve been diving into the diverse array of activities that make Camp Ak-O-Mak so special.
Swim practice has been a highlight, with our campers honing their strokes and building their confidence in the water. Canoeing adventures have allowed them to explore the serene beauty of our surroundings, fostering a deeper appreciation for nature.
Volleyball matches have been competitive and spirited, showcasing teamwork and sportsmanship. Hiking excursions have led to discoveries of hidden trails and breathtaking vistas, further bonding the campers with each other and the outdoors.
And of course, who could forget the candy store? It’s been a sweet treat for everyone, providing a delightful break from the day’s adventures.
Today was particularly eventful as some of our campers took part in the North Bay triathlon, showcasing their skills in swimming, cycling, and running. Their determination and sportsmanship were evident throughout the race, and we are incredibly proud of their accomplishments.
Meanwhile, for those who didn’t participate in the triathlon, they had a special day of activities. Rosie, our skilled black belt instructor, led a self-defense class, teaching valuable techniques and promoting confidence and empowerment among the campers. Additionally, they enjoyed a rejuvenating yoga session, focusing on relaxation, flexibility, and mindfulness.
The atmosphere here continues to be vibrant and supportive, fostering friendships, personal growth, and a love for adventure. Your children are thriving, embracing new challenges, and savoring every moment of their summer at Camp Ak-O-Mak.
